I’ve been following this particular blog for about 8 months and it’s been a terrific tool to learn odds and ends about the HDSLR cameras. The blog I’m talking about is Hurlbut Visuals. It is done by a fellow named Shane Hurlbut who is an ASC Director of Photography who has done such films Crazy Beautiful, We are Marshall and Terminator Salvation (yes, he’s the guy the Christian Bale went bazerk on). He has been one of the most adamant in this new HDSLR technology and he really LOVES these cameras.

Anyways, about a month Shane showed us all his latest project that he shot which was a short film titled, “The Last 3 minutes“. It’s a terrific film, I suggest you check it out. It is entirely shot on Canon 5d. What I find particularly interesting is all of the behind the scenes info that Shane shares with us on his blog.

It is heavily detailed oriented information, particularly about the lighting as well as everything that was done to make the film look so brilliant. There is even BTS videos that were made for each section that he covers. I HIGHLY recommend you check it out and especially if your a narrative based filmmaker.
